Why Can I Not Hear a Midi File?
Apple products stopped
supporting midi files, but there are a couple work-arounds. The best solution I have found for Apple
products is to download the files and download a midi
player like "GM Midi Player" from the app store. Then you can play the
files on the app.
Another option is to convert the midi into an mp3 file, which Apple has no problem playing. There
are programs that will convert midi files to mp3 files available for purchase. A free option
online is at http://www.zamzar.com, which will allow you to convert 2
files per day for free.
I understand that the newest versions of Garage Band (comes with or is
available for most Apple products) will play midi files, but I don't
have any personal experience with that option.
